The department focuses on a wide range of applied arts, such as antique ivories and corals, silverware, icons and Russian art objects.
Its staff, with the external consulting of Fabio Romano Moroni, carries out the study, cataloguing, valuation, and sale on the Italian and foreign markets of works on consignment, both through auctions and private negotiations (the latter often reserved for pieces of particular historical, artistic and economic value).
Additionally, we provide a service of appraisals, diagnostic analyses and drafting of certificates of antiquity required for the issue of licences granted by the C.I.T.E.S. Certification Service of the State Forestry Department for objects made of ivory, coral, tortoiseshell, hides and materials derived from endangered species of wild fauna and flora as listed in the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, abbreviated as CITES, enforced in Italy by Law 150/1992, subsequently amended, and the decrees of the Ministry of the Environment dated 19/4/1996 and 26/4/ 2001.
A selection of silver, ivory, coral, icons and Russian art artefacts in all price ranges is always available at the department and can be purchased at any time.
