Head of Athena to r., wearing laureate and crested Attic helmet and pearl necklace; Rv. Herakles kneeling r., holding lowered club in his r. hand and strangling the Nemean lion with his l. arm. HN Italy 911; SNG ANS 1428; Vlasto 1341. Dark patina. Exceptional condition for this type. High relief. Refined style. Traces of oxidation. Slight evidence of gentle cleaning, otherwise good extremely fine.
