Calabria, Tarentum (c. 302-280 BC), Drachm; AR (2,95 g; 16,5 mm)

Zop-, magistrate. Head of Athena r., wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with Skylla hurling stone; Rv. TAP, owl standing r., head facing; to r., magistrate's name: ZOP upwards over olive branch. Vlasto 1047-53; HN Italy 975. Traces of oxidation. Small crack visible on the reverse at 6 o'clock. Possible slight crystallisation, otherwise good extremely fine. Refined style.
